About Me

Hello, I’m Becky!

Paleo is my passion. It’s nurturing, healing, empowering, and fun! But, as you may well know, it’s a HUGE change from conventional living. If you dive in head first it can feel like every minute you aren’t in the kitchen you’re in the grocery store pouring over ingredients, often furiously googling multi-syllable words on a smart phone.

Rx Primal Becky Davis
I know! It’s a lot. When I first started, 7 years ago, I can remember trying to buy jam and having to look up “pectin”, “dextrose”, and “maltodextrin”. Who decided these things were even food? Much less that they needed to be in my jam. Then, when I finally got home, I spent hours in the kitchen trying to figure out how to cook everything from scratch and still have time to have a life.

I started this blog to give you everything you need to get into the groove and follow a paleo lifestyle successfully. I create recipes that are quick, easy, appealing to picky family members, and low carb for weight loss. I post a lot of tips to get over the mental hurdles that will try and trip you up. Ever tried to turn down free cake someone brought in for your birthday? It’s not as easy as “just say no.”

My Coaching Method

I’ve worked with behavioral psychology and have received health coach training from Duke Integrative Medicine, and the strategies I suggest to help you stick to your plan come from evidence based techniques that are being used and expanded by the most progressive functional health care providers in the world. I use these to work with you to create a custom approach that honors each woman’s unique situation and personality.

My framework is based on the Wheel of Health which honors the idea that all areas of our physical and mental are interconnected and that building in one creates support in improving another. Together, we will create a plan to reach your ideal health that makes you feel comfortable and confident.

My Personal Experience With Chronic Illness

That's me!
I’ve “been there”. I know how scary it can be to feel like you have no control over your health and like no one is on your side. My husband was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease when he was 25 years old, before he met me. I’ve sat in the GI specialist’s office after an ER visit and had her tell us that there was no hope, diet could not manage the symptoms, and that he would be on immune suppressing steroids for the rest of his life. I’ve woken up in the middle of the night, worried that he might not be breathing. I’ve held his hand as he fought back, refused long-term medication, and dared to try and take back control of his health over the past few years. We’ve found doctors who supports what we are doing and he is steadily improving. His symptoms are gone, his energy is sky high, and he has reclaimed his life.

I want you to know that you can control your health, you are not on your own, and you can change your life.

I’d love to hear your story and how you are overcoming your obstacles, find me on Facebook or Twitter to keep in touch!
